Giving back to our community since 2020, and before…
For years, the Fire Fighters of the Derry, NH have always made an effort to consciously give back to the town in which we serve. Over the years, The United Professional Firefighters of Derry IAFF Local 4392 (L4392) have raised and distributed money for charitable needs. Recently, there has been an initiative by L4392 to establish an official nonprofit charitable organization to clearly identify a vehicle in which philanthropic efforts can be diverted.
The Derry Fire Fighters Charitable Organization is a local nonprofit charity that raises money for firefighters and other community members in need of financial assistance. The organization supports the poor, underprivileged, and distressed community members and also provides education and safety training within the firefighting profession. Organization Founding President Nicholas Bridle explains DFFCO’s mission as a commitment towards working with, and for, the surrounding community in order to reach those who need help.
Our “official” objective is: The Derry Fire Fighters Charitable Organization (DFFCO), of Derry, New Hampshire is organized exclusively to collect and distribute funds for charitable causes such as but not limited to; conveniences for the burial of the dead; the promotion of education and arts; relief of the poor, distressed, or underprivileged; the provision and care of firefighter related monuments/memorials; the promotion of firefighting and safety; to provide emergency relief for any member; the soliciting of charitable contributions for distribution to nationally recognized and locally recognized bona-fide charitable organizations and any other purposes for which an organization that qualifies as an exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
